Though the temperatures are finally cooling off, the gridiron begins to heat up as fans fill BB&T Field and Bowman Gray Stadium to see their favorite teams go helmet to helmet.  Home to the Wake Forest University Demon Deacons and the Winston-Salem State University Rams, Winston-Salem showcases a football game nearly every weekend this fall and in some cases a double dose!  The 2017 football season is sure to be a great one in Winston-Salem. Wake Forest University Demon Deacons

Wake Forest enters into its fourth season of the Dave Clawson era and the Demon Deacons gear up for an exciting season of ACC football. The Deacons stormed the gridiron for their first home game of the season against Presbyterian Blue Hose Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6:30 at BB&T Field.

Winston-Salem State University Rams

The defending CIAA Champion Rams of Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) enter their fourth season under the leadership of head coach Kienus Boulware. Boulware led the Rams to finish the 2016 season 9-3 and 7-0 in the CIAA Southern Division, before capturing the CIAA Crown. The Rams opened the 2017 season away Thursday, Aug. 31 taking on UNC Pembroke. Their home opener Saturday, Sept. 9 within the friendly confines of Bowman Gray Stadium is against Bowie State at 4 p.m. See below for the full schedule and be sure to arrive early for tailgating!
