Historic Bethabara Park, a National Historic Landmark and the first Moravian settlement in North Carolina, was a frontier trade center from 1753 to 1772. Today, explore the church, fort and gardens.

Salem was founded in 1766 as a Moravian congregational town and trading center. Now a living history town, Old Salem Museums and Gardens is one of America's most authentic and well-documented colonial sites with 100 restored and reconstructed buildings. Costumed interpreters demonstrate the activities of the European and African Americans who resided here through 1840. Visit the shops, homes and gardens year-round.
