A Holiday Dusted in Sugar

Deep South Magazine featured Winston-Salem in the online piece, "A Holiday Dusted in Sugar." The article written by editor Erin Bass, talks of the delicate, whisper-thin Moravian cookies found in Winston-Salem and Visit Winston-Salem's Moravian Cookie Trail -- and excellent way for visitors to learn about the history of the Moravians one sweet nibble at a time. Erin also highlights other Moravian culinary dishes such as Chicken Pie and the heavy presence of historic homes in Winston-Salem. Visitors are able to walk through more than 250 years of history beginning with the district of Old Salem, Reynolda House Museum of American Art and moving along to The Graylyn Estate. Erin had this to say of historic holiday traditions found in Winston-Salem:

"Whether you choose to spend the holiday in Winston-Salem by candlelight, tasting sugary confections or contemplating Christmases past, there’s no doubt you’ll make sweet memories and come to appreciate the Moravian traditions that have thrived here for over 250 years."
