Pride Festival and Parade: October 19, 2019

A weeklong celebration of love, unity, and the equal rights of the LGBTQIA+ community, Pride Winston-Salem (Pride WS) kicks off Sunday, Oct. 13 and continues with six days of exciting special events, all hosted in Winston-Salem, leading up to Saturday's Pride Festival and Parade in the heart of the Downtown Arts District.

Sunday, Oct. 13

Macy's Drag Fashion Show
Time: 6 - 10 p.m.
Location: Hanes Mall, 3320 Silas Creek Parkway Ste. 2500

A prominent sponsor of Pride Festival and Parade, Macy's host this Draf Fashion Show on the second floor of the major retail store. Participants can look forward performances by newly crowned Miss Pride WS Love Lee Jackson, Miss Pride WS Honorary Eden Parque Devine, as well as other special guests. Attendees also enjoy food, cash bar, raffles, giveaways, and a shopping event inclusive of special discounts.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

Pride WS Cocktail and Pastry Night 
Time: 6 - 9 p.m.
Location: Breezeway in front of Footnote Coffee & Cocktails (634 West 4th Street Ste #120)

Enjoy Pride WS week with theme pastriesand specialty cocktails crafted by the artisans at Footnote Coffee & Cocktails. Games and music are located in the breezeway for your entertainment.

Drag Trivia Night
Time: 8 p.m.
Location: Foothills Brewpub

Put your game face on for Drag Trivia Night hosted at Foothills Brewing, Winston-Salem's oldest operating brewery and one of the top-selling craft breweries in the state. 

Wednesday, Oct. 16

Wine & Cocktails
Time: 6 - 9 p.m.
Location: Sir Winston Restaurant
Unwind with a glass of wine amongst friends for Pride WS' Wine & Cocktail Night at Sir Winston Restaurant & Wine Loft. Featuring chic decor and local cuisine, Sir Winston is located on the main level of the downtown Hotel Indigo, which occupies a 1928 historic Art Deco building. 

Thursday, Oct. 17 

Pride Night and Costume Party
Time: 9 p.m. - 1 a.m.
Location: Burke Street Pub

Prepare to don your best and dress to the nines for Pride WS' Pride Night & Costume Party event, themed "Movie Star Realness." Hosted at Burke Street Pub in downtown Winston-Salem near the historic West End neighborhood, this event is sure to be a hit with prizes for the best dressed and DJ Fish keeping the music going all night long, themed cocktails, and drink specials. Keep your eyes peeled for Marilyn Monroe and JFK who are rumored to make an appearance during the night.

Friday, Oct. 18

Official Pride Kickoff Party
Time: 7 - 11 p.m.
Location: The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel (401 N. Main Street)

Enjoy live entertainment, what's said to be "the best silent auction in town," and heavy hors d'oeuvres during the official Kickoff Party for Pride Winston-Salem Weekend. The hottest ticket in town is expected to see out so be sure to grab your tickets in advance.

Saturday, Oct. 19

Winston-Salem Pride Festival and Parade
Time: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Location: Downtown Arts District

The day-long street festival features live entertainment on two stages, a food truck rodeo and colorful parade beginning at 11 a.m. at Spring and Fourth streets and continues down Fourth Street to Trade Street, before ending at Fifth and Trade Street. 

Want to keep the good times rolling after the sun sets? Head to one (or both) cocktail parties at The Katharine (located inside Kimpton Cardinal Hotel) and Sir Winston (located inside Hotel Indigo), both taking place after the festival from 5 to 9 p.m.

Official Pride Afterparty
Time: 9 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Location: The RamKat (170 W. Ninth Street) 

Dance the night away during a battle of DJs, performances by headliner Shawn Sounds from The Voice, Mr. and Miss Pride WS and other special guests.

Sunday, Oct. 20

Pride WS Brunch
Time: 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Location: The Katharine Brasserie & Bar

Finish your Pride Week with a community brunch hosted at The Katharine Brasserie & Bar. Indulge in a brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas at one of downtown's most popular restaurants.
