While sports is fun and games to some, it's serious business in Winston-Salem.  And our impressive history of dedication to sports is evidence of our passion for sports.  Winston-Salem is synonymous as the perfect host city from amateur to professional sporting events. Whether it’s a pristine college campus, state-of-the-art indoor track, downtown convention center, spacious arena or well-maintained multi-purpose fields, Winston-Salem has the facility. And we are the proud home of Wake Forest University as well as Winston-Salem State University -- both boasting an impressive and diverse sports programs, facilities and venues. 

Winston-Salem has proudly hosted the Powerade State Games of North Carolina, US Club Soccer National Cup-Southeast Region, Freedom Cup Challenge Lacrosse Tournament,  the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball Tournament and NCAA Division II and III Indoor Track and Field Championships.  And every August, Winston-Salem enjoys worldwide attention as the host of Winston-Salem Open, the ATP World Tour 250 tennis event, hosting such international tennis stars as John Isner, France's Julien Benneteau, and Andy Roddick to name a few.

Suffice it to say, our community is passionate about all sports and offers a variety of venues for almost every imaginable athletic event. Catch the buzz around our BB&T Ballpark on the edge of downtown, where guests enjoy one of the minor league’s most stunning experiences. In addition, we boast our Coliseum complex is an impressive, flexible facility.  We are sport an array of collegiate AAU facilities. Winston-Salem is also home to an impressive and expansive soccer complex and state-of-the-art golf center. JDL Fast Track, an indoor 200-meter flat track and previous host to NCAA Championship Track & Field events, is stated to be only the second indoor facility in North Carolina.

Planned to open early 2020 is RISE Indoor Sports Complex at BB&T Sports Park.  An indoor facility, that will be at least 120,000 square feet, RISE Indoor Sports is expected to include eight hardwood basketball courts/16 volleyball courts, seating capacity for up to 2,500, nine meeting rooms/team rooms, food court and more.
