Intimate Stays & B&Bs
Winston-Salem Historic Inns
Three downtown historic homes operate collectively as Winston-Salem Historic Inns. Located in downtown's Historic West End, the Summit Street Inns—two side-by-side properties, Ludlow House Sheppard House—offer 10 uniquely themed rooms where modern flair meets original fireplaces, stained-glass windows, a shared garden patio, and all sorts of bonus amenities. About a mile away, just off Salem Parkway, the Historic Shaffner Inn provides eight distinctive guest rooms and intimate event space in a Queen Anne–Tudor-style home built in 1907.
West Salem Art Hotel
Located a mile south of downtown, the West Salem Art Hotel transforms a 1931 corner grocery store into an immersive art-filled short-term rental. The house features six uniquely themed rooms—including whimsical “Art-partments” like the Parisian-inspired Rose Room, the retro VHS Suite, and the folk-art-covered Franco Suite. Common areas double as galleries showcasing local works for sale. Another bonus: you're just steps from a popular neighborhood hangout, West Salem Public House, a cozy coffee shop and bar.
The Huntley House
Tucked inside the Robert Hall complex, The Huntley House offers five eclectic rooms, each curated with vintage treasures, and modern touches. A former doctor’s office and sign shop, the house reopened as a stunning Airbnb in 2022. Guests can book individual rooms—or reserve all five for a group stay. Located in downtown's Industrial Hill district, it’s a short stroll to nearby breweries, concert venues, art galleries, maker spaces, and more.
