Delta Arts Center is proud to present "If I Live to See Tomorrow", a deeply personal and evocative exhibition by artist Vanessa J. Bonaparte. This exhibition, opening on February 8, 2025, invites audiences on a journey through Bonaparte’s reflections on memory, identity, and transformation.
Bonaparte’s work is a heartfelt tribute to Harlem and the individuals who shaped her artistic vision. Her paintings capture the vibrant essence of her past, from childhood memories of bustling streets to the cultural richness of the Harlem community. Through expressive brushstrokes and vivid storytelling, she conveys the emotional depth of recollection—some moments tinged with nostalgia, others with the warmth of joy.
Having spent years as an accomplished Art Director, Bonaparte’s artistic journey evolved as she embraced painting as a medium for personal storytelling. Her work explores the passage of time and the intricate ways experiences refine and redefine a person’s life.
Curated by Timothy Jeffers, "If I Live to See Tomorrow" is more than an exhibition—it is an intimate glimpse into Bonaparte’s world, where resilience and transformation take center stage. Through her work, she invites viewers to engage with their own memories and find meaning in life’s ever-changing nature.
