The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem is excited to host our Fourth Annual Starlight Gala-Shining A Light On Abilities on May 3, 2025 at the Millennium Center in Downtown Winston-Salem. In keeping with our mission we strive to ensure individuals with Down syndrome are valued, included and given the opportunities to pursue fulfilling lives.

The Starlight Gala will feature a silent auction, a delightful meal, two inspiring award presentations, and special guests including Keynote Speaker, Sofia Sanchez, actress, model, author and disability advocate and our emcee, Katie Nordeen.

We are honored to present the Karen Sisel Community Award to Tricia McManus, superintendent of Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools.

We are honored to present the Brent Bennett Self-Advocate Award to Austin Barnhill, member of the DSA of GWS.
